This is exactly what Apple should be doing right now. They have the market share, the profit, and the influence to make this change, regardless if there’s an impact on consumer price, or just on Apples profit. Tim Cook has already shown that he doesn’t have the relative blindspot that Jobs did, when it comes to corporate charitable initiatives. This is the kind of leadership, good will generating, leading action that will appeal to Apple’s base.
