sometimes i think in sentences without context.

“you didn’t grow up there.  you make this claim to it, but this is the only place you’ve known.”

“i grew up there as much as i needed to.  surrounded by people who have the place deep enough in their flesh that they can’t actually leave.  i didn’t live there.  i lived in the idea of there.”
