I want a non-physical nation.
Not that I don’t love my country, and not that I want to leave it.
But I want to see what a non-physical nation could look like, and I want that mostly because I’ve read a lot of William Gibson over the last year.
I’d probably considering getting citizenship there, though. An internet-based nation, where in individual bodies and location are almost like embassies; odd in-between spaces where everything is protected and neutral, where decorum is key because the contact is more intimate and dangerous than staying in the standard realm.
I suppose the main outcome of this thought experiment is the creation of interpersonal interaction as something that creates a secular-sacred kind of space.
And I like that.
