Adulthood in the face of a well documented youth;...
I honestly believe Wil Wheaton is essentially a time-traveller. Not from the distant, TNG type of future, but from 20 years into the future. Because, seriously, think about the journey he’s had to go on: Maturing into adulthood with his evolution as a person, and his awkward phase, not only public, but immortalized and meme-ified and trotted our whenever anyone disagrees with anything he...

Serious Question:
How many web-based businesses, VC firms, etc, would pack up and move to Canada / Europe / Elsewhere if SOPA passes? I only ask because this is an internet destroying piece of legislation. This is a bigger deal than Bush winning a second term, I think, and that had people threatening to move North.

What I learned in 2011.
I learned that when something doesn’t feel right, logic isn’t enough to override that instinctual, emotional reaction. I learned that giving something a chance can not work out, and still be worth doing. I learned that there is a massive, baffling separation between standing up for yourself, and letting your pride keep you from doing what you know will make you happy. If you’re...

attention industry: What 'New Twitter' is. →
attentionindustry: It isn’t an attack on power users, the same way Final Cut Pro X wasn’t a slap in the face to power users. This is evidence of a core truth: no one changes the game focusing only on what power users want. I don’t mean this as an extension of the ‘faster horses’ problem. I mean, simply, that your… An afternoon reblog of my post from earlier this morning, on the more...

Is it just me, or is it social media relaunch...
Since Monday, the following things have happened: Facebook relaunches it’s Android app, aligning UX with the iOS mobile version Twitter relaunches it’s mobile apps, which (minimal review) seem like a step in the right direction Google+ relaunches it’s mobile apps, adding search, changing the logo, and improving the experience (on Android, at least) Facebook finally starts...

bijan sabet: The thing about open source  →
bijan: I just finished reading the Steve Jobs biography. He was a complicated genius. #understatement One thing in particular (amongst several other items) is his view about Google Android. attention industry: Lessons from PayPal's Fiasco →
attentionindustry: PayPal made a very big mistake. Paypal realized this, and fixed it. But there’s a lot to learn from what happened, and it’s not just about the error made, and not just about the response. Digital / Social needs to own customer service.
