RT @scottkarp Failure to link to original sources should be seen as failure of practice of journalism generally, not just online.
oops forgot attached link: http://bit.ly/jwKR
my god, i actually just used linkedin. this has happened maybe 5 times in 2008.
listening to last.fm rather than my own music collection. reading way too many recession horror stories.
reasonable amount of physical activity and productivity today. expecting to be sore and self-satisfied tomorrow.
talib kweli - get by: when i bought this album, i considered short fiction and rollerblading the noblest pursuits available to me.

i can’t be the only person counting the seconds until someone (in either law enforcement or government) ruins this.
Million vs. Trillion
vasta:
Sometimes, the world needs a bit of perspective. Dave Reed provides some of this perspective in the quote below (via):
To get an idea how much bigger one trillion is than one million, ponder this: A million seconds is 12 days; a trillion seconds is 32,000 years.
Now get this: It is estimated that in the universe there are a trillion stars for every human being on planet Earth.

The Internet always amazes me. Sadly, it’s usually by showing me that people are even dumber than I had assumed. That, or science!
Further making myself unpopular:
I reject the argument that being against (some) unions means I am in favour of exploiting workers.
I have heard this argument twice in the last month, it’s not going to get any less moronic.
thing that will make me unpopular:
whenever someone tells me i should thank unions for weekends off, or minimum wage, or the lack of child labour in north america, it feels like someone telling me that i should like republicans, because they freed the slaves. i mean, technically, yes, the thing you are mentioning was positive, and people who used the label you do did it.
but it was a long fucking time ago, and you can’t...
my use of facebook is clearly not optimized. resolution?
new years resolutions (tumblr edition):
get closer to my dream job.
move.
create more (creative / professional).
live more frugally.
exercise (more) regularly.
in the last 24 hours, everyone seems to be bringing up incarcerated relatives.
I truly hate having to do things twice. Especially physical labour.
on a confusingly short fuse, recently. so it goes.
bushmills!
when i wake up: coffee, interwebs, shower, working on my prezo for the 30th. where are my notes?
Rock band on a Sunday night, like the old days.
From main street unionville to northern edge of oak ridges in 25 mins. 404 equals win.
Out for coffee with @s_cubed. Unionville is an odd place, but adorably quaint.
At Yorkdale, again. Dear teen girl squad: leggings are STILL not pants.
Watching @ganglygolightly try on dresses. Totally worth the trip. Schwing, etc.
already forgetting my usual sleep schedule.
Boxing day: jeans, sweater (club monaco), book (remix), dress shirt (zara), magazine (corduroy). Was intimidated by holt renfrew prices.
For boxing week shopping, Lessig beats out Gladwell.
And, I just @replied to myself. Twitfail.
Want to go shopping tomorrow. Thinking long scarf, some denim, or a new bag.
Good to be home. Bought a gadget on BBTV recommendation, looking forward to testing it.
Weird thing to feel, especially looking at some of the twitters I follow, but I thought I’d let that sit out there, and see the response.
I know this isn’t even remotely true, but sometimes it feels like my corner of the interwebs is populated with only white people and me.
Drinking tea, have run out of reading materials (1 book, 3 magazines) and have devoured my RSS reader. I hunger for content.
I’m listening to my sister read a book version of Pixar’s Cars to my 3 year old nephew.
I’ve been watching the first hour of this movie again and again (before naptime) without resolution.
It makes me embarassingly happy to get a reminder as to how this story ends.
there. it’s not christmas anymore, i should go to sleep.
kung fu panda came up like, 5 separate times in the last 24 hrs. awesome, awesome movie.
Still wondering what I’m going to buy myself for Christmas. Suggestions?
Waiting for pecan pie. Soon. Soon.
No one criticizes Indian culture more than my Indian friends.
Other than, y’know, actual racists.
Tryptophan and alcohol kicking in. Must not fall asleep before 10pm.
Christmas dinner starts momentarily. Here comes the itis.
Parents liked their gift, but apparently the wine of the month club mailed notice to my parents 3 days before Christmas. Way to ruin a gift.
Woo! Money! And various things I needed! And an issue of Monocle to read! Tea! (mocking @randeepk).
Sign I’m becoming prematurely old: legitimately excited to find an electric toothbrush in my stocking.
